Watford Junction
Showing how the station was in 1949. The pilot engine42316 (BR) is being detached from 45538 " Giggleswick" on the 4.15 Euston-Bletchley. The viewpoint is the long - gone bridge. I based this painting on a B&W Photo by my grandad HC Casserley, I added in the train to St Albans Abbey on platform 10 and some figures to bring it to life in colour! I commuted from Berkhamsted to Watford Junction daily in 1985-6 to attend Watford School of Art. See more of HCC's B&W photographs like this in my recent book "Steaming Through the Chilterns"
I now offer the original artwork for sale direct from my studio in Tring, Herts. The originals are hand-painted painted using water-based Winsor & Newton professional gouache paint on Arboreta E.S. white drawing cartridge paper 160g/m2
