Berkhamsted The Goat

The Goat, Berkhamsted is a family and dog-friendly sports bar, as well as Berkhamsted's premier music venue. Historically dating from 1782, but re-built in the mid-19th c. A halt for cattle-drovers on their way to the London markets. The drovers pounded their cattle/sheep in three closes nearby (hence Three Close Lane). The surviving cattle trough survives outside as a flower bed.
