Berkhamsted The Bull

The Bull is Berkhamsted`s oldest pub, mentioned in a rental of The Brotherhood of St John in 1535. The current building appears to be early seventeenth century, a good deal concealed beneath brick and roughcast. For many years it was a boaters pub for commercial working canal-folk, with bunks built into the rafters for sleeping stop-overs.
