My viewpoint is from the outer moat - where the original entrance drawbridge/gateway of this Norman castle stood looking back to the bailey, with the Motte in the distance. Swans and ducks swim in the full moat. The castle is managed by Berkhamsted Castle Trust in partnership with English Heritage. Free entry daily 10-6.
